Drew “Shahid” J. Nordstrom
Drew “Shahid” Jacob Nordstrom, beloved son, brother, uncle and husband, returned to Allah on June 17, 2024, at the age of 36. He was born on March 20, 1988, in Everett, WA, and most recently resided in Kennewick, WA.
Drew, also known as “Shahid,” had a passion for animals and learning more about his faith. He found joy in watching his beloved Minnesota Vikings, the companionship of his loved ones and the beauty of the natural world. Drew had a particular appreciation for fresh foods, kids, animals and cherished the peace and serenity found within any masjid, one of his favorite places in the world. If he considered you his friend, there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for you.
Football and basketball held a special place in Drew’s heart, and he enjoyed watching and playing the sports. His lively sense of humor had the power to brighten anyone’s day, and he had a knack for making others laugh. If he was in the right mood, he’d make all kinds of videos for Facebook to keep the masses entertained.
Drew is survived by his parents, Michelle Jacobs and Jerry Nordstrom (Debbie), his sisters Nicole Jacobs-Berg and Shawna Kinman (Mike), niece Zaylie, nephews Connor and Owen, as well as his loving wife, Crystal Williamson-Nordstrom, and step-son Robbie Grimsley. His memories will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
Drew “Shahid” Nordstrom lived his life guided by the motto, “For you is your way of life, and for me is my way of life.” His strong faith as a Muslim brought him solace and inner peace throughout his journey. The family held a quiet ceremony to honor Drew’s life and bid him farewell. He was laid to rest at Sunset Gardens on the Bypass Hwy, Richland, WA, in the “Love and Rest Garden,” row 44, space 4 (his favorite number). May his soul find eternal rest, and may his loved ones find comfort in the memories they shared together.

36 yrs ago, God gave me a beautiful brown hair blue eyed chunky monkey son to love, Drew Jacob Nordstrom. He used Shahid as well, since he became Muslim about 11 yrs ago. When the Dr. said. Its a Baby Boy, I fell deeply in love and I knew it was always going to be this way… Drew loved animals right away, at 2 he watched kittens being born and later picked the ” Titten” up carefully n slow n put it up to his face and gently touched it..we had ducks ,chickens ,goats, dogs and cats, he really loved them all. All his life. He could be a real softy when it came to kids or kritters . All his love and passions were for Nature and wildlife . just 2 yrs ago he drove the 300 miles to Mama’s for 10 days and we walked by the Stilliguamish river, then the Centennial trail bridge..we had a lot to talk about n laugh about. Miss you Drew..Forever and always in my heart, I miss your calls being happy and energetic….”Attention” to Drews teacher” Mr Mullins ” his 5 gr school teacher, at Scootney Springs Othello you were right, Drew did become an Entertainer, just as you said, just as he was, in the most unusual places! Drew/ Shahid, became Muslim about 11 yrs ago. He prayed so hard and into it so deep an earthquake wouldn’t even phase him as hed pray, I loved listening to his voice as he prayed a most beautiful calming voice of a Angel…. All my love Son, Forever and ever…its never goodbye, but see ya later .Thanks for your big huge hugs son, love u and thank u for all the loves hugs n laughter, plus the Micheal Jackson dances you and your sisters put on, you were 2,6 and 10, all in onesies jammies and I loved watching you kids have a blast! 9/3/2024 Always n forever, love you, ur mommas
I was so fortunate to have had you for my brother. No other brother would have been better. You loved me with all your heart, no doubt about it. That’s all this Sister could have asked for.
I know for a fact you’re up there happy and having fun with Grandpa Lynn. I hope you’ve ran into all your good friends that went before you too, especially your best friend Calvin.
Until I see you again brother, may you keep the masses up there laughing now! 😆
