Robert “Bob” Gene Clark
Robert “Bob” Gene Clark, age 76, a resident of Pasco, succumbed to Lewy body dementia surrounded by his family on June 10, 2024, in Kennewick, Washington. He was born on October 6, 1947 in Aberdeen, Washington to Richard Villshaw Clark and Miranda Melinda Henrietta Clark (Furubotten).
Bob was raised in Aberdeen until he graduated in 1966. After graduation, Bob attended the University of Washington before he enlisted in the Navy. He served as a nuclear submariner for twelve years. While stationed in Gorton, Connecticut, Bob met and married the love of his life, Rheta Hayes Perkins. They recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary.
After leaving the Navy, Bob worked in the nuclear industry for 25+ years until he retired in 2010. He had a passion for gardening and was especially proud of his melons, squash, and cucumbers. Bob had enormous knowledge about construction, mechanics, irrigation, and mathematics. It wasn’t uncommon to see him sitting at the dining room table helping his children and grandchildren with their homework. Bob also enjoyed traveling with Rheta around North America and to Arizona during the winters to escape the cold. Bob was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to all.
Besides his wife Rheta, Bob is survived by his son Alan Perkins of Spokane Valley, WA, daughter Sheri (Sean) Edler of Pasco, WA, daughter Roberta (Kenny) McConnehey of Yakima, WA, daughter Julie (Matthew) Anderson of Kennewick, WA, brother Duane (Sandra) Clark of Bay City, WA, sister Frances (Roger) Nafts of Yakima, WA, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Jack Lee Clark.
A graveside service with military honors will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Richland.
A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days Saint located at 4618 Porto Lane, Pasco, WA 99301.
Arrangements are being handled by Einan’s at Sunset Funeral Home in Richland.

Dear Rheta, family and friends of Bob,
On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans, we offer our sincere condolences at Bob´s passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are always saddened whenever a fellow “Bubblehead” departs on Eternal Patrol. He served with honor in the U.S. Submarine Force.
To our “Brother-of-the-Phin” we say, “Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. Fair Winds and Following Seas.” Thank you for your service to our country.
Rheta and family… “may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (ESV).
