Sandra Jean Davis

July 6, 1943 – June 25, 2024

Sandra Jean Davis, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on June 25th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 6th, 1943, in Walla Walla, Washington, to Clarence and Anna Nelson. Jean spent her formative years in Walla Walla before relocating to Pasco. She pursued her passion for art at Columbia Basin College, earning a degree in Graphic Illustration. Jean dedicated 27 years to the graphic department at the Hanford site before her retirement.

Jean’s unwavering faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She expressed her devotion through music, singing at the Cathedral of Joy and various other churches in the Tri-Cities and Yuma, Arizona. Her love of quilting was equally profound; she crafted beautiful quilts for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends, and dedicated her time to creating “Fidget Quilts” for Alzheimer’s patients in both Yuma and the Tri-Cities. If you have a quilt made by Jean and a photo of it, please share it with her family and friends at her celebration of life or send pictures to SJeansfamily@gmail.com

In 1976, Jean married Paul Davis, whom she affectionately called “the love of her life”. Their 48-year marriage was a testament to their deep and enduring love. Jean cherished her heritage and looked forward to the Engebretson family reunions each year, where she took delight in making Lefse.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Anna Nelson; her sister Carol Hussey; and her brother Ken Nelson. She is survived by her devoted husband, Paul Davis; her sister Donna Christopherson; her children Ken Ewer (Rebecca), JoDee Zappone (Bill), Rick Garretson, (JoDee), Gary Davis (Karen), Larry Davis (Tracie), Tracy Clark (Mike), and Julie Bussell (Mike), and her 17 grandchildren and her 15 great grandchildren.

A celebration of Jean’s life will be held on Saturday, September 21st, at 11:00 am Pacific Time, at the Living Room Church, 1409 South Garfield Street, Kennewick, WA. The service will be streamed live on the Churches Facebook page: https:/www.facebook.com/tlrcommunity

Jean’s legacy of love, faith, and creativity will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

  • Jean taught me so much while singing with her as the two female tenors in the choir at community Christian Church in Yuma. She had a beautiful voice and sang special music on Sundays. Her smile was so contagious you couldn’t help but smile back no matter what mood you were in. Paul , I miss your smiling face too and the wonderful hugs you so freely gave out. You both have been missed. Take care Paul. Jean is in the hands of Jesus. What a blessing..
