Todd W. Herzog, 73, passed away on June 5, 2024, in Kennewick, WA.
Todd W. Herzog was born on August 18, 1950, in Bethlehem, PA, to William W. Herzog and Doris M. Herzog.
Todd graduated from Liberty High School in 1968. Todd enlisted in the United States Navy in 1971 where he completed Hospital Corps School and Nuclear Medicine Technology programs. Todd went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from the University of South Carolina in 1975, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Anesthesia from George Washington University in 1984. Following retirement from the Navy, Todd started Pacific NW Anesthesia Services and practiced clinical anesthesia until his retirement in May 2017.
Todd was a member of the Washington Association of Nurse Anesthetists (WANA). He served as a member and past President. He was also a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA). He served on the AANA Board as Region 5 Director from 2007-2009, Treasurer, 2010-2011, and Vice President 2011-2012.
Todd married Margaret (Marge) Gorzelic on April 3, 1971, in Bethlehem, PA. The couple had 2 children, Kimberly Anne Anderson and Matthew Todd Herzog.
Todd loved golfing, traveling, and treasuring his friends and family.
Todd is survived by Margaret (Marge) Herzog -wife, of Kennewick, Kimberly Anderson – daughter, Eric Anderson – son-in-law, of Richland, Garrett Matthew Anderson-grandson, Jillian Hailey Anderson – granddaughter, Hannah Katherine Anderson – granddaughter and Genesis Anne Anderson – great-granddaughter.
Todd is preceded in death by William Herzog – Father, Doris Herzog – Mother, and Matthew Todd Herzog, Son.
The service for Todd Herzog will be held on June 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 506 S. Garfield St., Kennewick, WA. 99336.
Burial will be held on June 12, 2024, at Cherry Grove Memorial Cemetery at 22272 Foss Rd., Poulsbo, WA. 98370.
Memorial donations can be made in Todd’s name at the Alzheimer’s Association, Behind the Badge Foundation, or the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
I met Todd and his family back 1981 when Matt and I were just in grade school together. We kept in touch even after Matt passed until a few years ago. He was a very nice and gentle person. He cared deeply for his family and he will surely be missed by all who knew him. My heart and love goes out to his entire family.
I met Todd while we were stationed together at Naval Hospital Bremerton, WA. It was a delight and a privilege to work with and learn from him. Todd always gave his whole heart and brilliant mind to whatever he was doing. He loved Marge and their family greatly. Rest in peace shipmate.
Todd was indeed a man of virtue and committed to his family and profession. He was a pleasure to be around and always willing to show you “the ropes”. Served with him on the AANA Board of Directors. My God rest his soul!
A treasure that will surely be so missed! He always had a smile and a laugh. So much love and peace is sent your way, knowing now that he is at peace. All our love!
Marge, my sincere condolences to you and your family on the passing of Todd. I am a better person. for having known him and will always cherish my memories of our friendship, as well as professional interactions.

You were ever smiling, ever present and ever a presence. Your love for Marge and all your family was front and center. I know you are now free from the earthly weights that hold us down. I pray for peace and comfort for Marge, your family and all who knew and loved you.
You will always be remembered,
Todd now begins his everlasting life without all of the recent pain and the anguish of losing who he was in the past few years. He is out of danger now, and I hope at the peace promised to him for his service to us, country, and God.
I, like many, am heartbroken he cannot hold my hand or hug me again, but know he has many looking out for him where he is now, and many of us here, remembering our best times together.
I promise I will try to play Amazing Grace on my pipes tomorrow as you are laid to rest next to your son, fallen brother.

Todd was an expert CRNA clinician and successful businessman; a remarkably caring mentor and inspiration to those who followed. A true Officer and a Gentleman.

May I express heartfelt condolences to you and your family. Todd served our nation and our profession valiantly. Both a better “place” because of his dedication. It was a great pleasure professionally to get to know him a bit better on our AANA Foundation board together. May you be comforted by God’s gracious hands at this time of sorrow.
I was so saddened to hear about Todd’s passing. I have known the Herzog family my whole life. Terry, his sister is my best friend so I share so many wonderful memories with the whole family. Todd will be sorely missed but never forgotten. Sincere condolences to Marge, their family and Terry, Rodney and Jeff and their families. Rest In Peace Todd.
I have many precious memories while growing up of Todd and his family. He was a very kind, caring brilliant man. God Bless him may he Rest In Peace. I am sure his son and parents welcomed him with open arms. ❤️
