Judy Carlson
August 17, 1946 – July 7, 2024, Richland, Washington. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Judy Ann Carlson, who was taken from us far too soon on July 7, 2024, in Uxbridge England. Judy was born the 7th child of 7 children to Rolla O. Boggs and Ocie “Bee” Boggs on August 17, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky. Judy spent most of her life in Richland, moving here at the age of 2 when her father Rolla went to work at the Hanford Project.
Judy graduated from Columbia High School in1964 and went on to graduate from Riverside Baptist College, in Riverside California. Judy had a long career with Bank of America as she attained the title of Vice President and managed both the Kennewick and Richland branch locations. Judy was named by Bank of America as its “Manager of the Year.” Judy also served on the Kadlec Foundation Board of Trustees. Judy was also quite a golfer and loved to play a round either while traveling with her Husband or with her friends who are part of the Horn Rapids 9-Hole Ladies Group.
Judy is survived by her husband and the love of her life Gary Carlson, her sisters Betty Whiting (Ft. Myers, FL) and Joan Wisler (Kennewick, WA), her sister-in-law Sharon Boggs-Johnson, her two stepchildren, Todd Carlson and Lisa Paris, daughter-in-law Dawn F. Mackey and grandson Jared M. Carlson. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Rolla and Ocie “Bee” Boggs, her brothers Roy Thomas Boggs, and Donald Lee Boggs and her sisters Pauline Brewer and Bobby Joyce Watts.
Judy’s kind spirit and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Judy leaves behind a community of friends and family who will miss her dearly, but who are grateful for the time they shared together. A service to celebrate Judy’s life will be held at Sunset Gardens at 11:00 a.m. on October 4, 2024.

I knew and worked with Judy for several years at Bank of America in Richland. She was a wonderful person, a great mentor, and friend. She was responsible in helping me achieve my goals and I will always remember her for her encouragement and friendship. May you rest in peace Judy.
Carlson family – – I was saddened to hear about Judy passing. I met Judy in 1963 when I first moved to Richland and we became friends immediately. Even though I left the Tri-City area shortly after graduation, Judy and I remained friends throughout the years and reconnected many times. I will always remember the great times we had working together at Zips, traveling to Seattle, sunbathing at the Lagoon, etc.
Rest in peace my friend – – – you will never be forgotten.
Oh dear Judy. So sorry you have left us so soon. So many years of friendship and seeing you and Gary around town. I loved seeing you at B of A—the most classy, beautiful person. My heart aches for Gary and all the family. You will miss her every day.
