Patricia A. Schweppe, 67, of Richland, passed away on July 5, 2024.
Born on October 3, 1956, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Armand and Elizabeth Albertoli of New York City, Patricia was the eldest of six children and a responsible and caring older sister. A lifelong devout Catholic, Patricia was an active member of Christ the King Parish in Richland at the time of her passing.
Patricia spent her formative years in Orange, Connecticut. She became a registered nurse and earned a master’s degree from Yale School of Nursing. Her career as a psychiatric nurse spanned several hospitals, including one associated with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Patricia met John Schweppe at Yale University, and they married on October 17, 1987. Together, they lived in California and Maryland before settling in Richland, Washington, in 2002.
Patricia was an excellent home cook and a lover of music, theater, and film. Following her nursing career, she shared her passion for music with young children as an elementary school music teacher at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Kennewick until 2019. She also served as an accompanist for St. Joseph’s church choir for several years.
Above all, Patricia was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, John, and their three children, Catherine, Sarah, and Thomas. She is also survived by her four siblings, Christopher, James, John, and Mary. She was preceded in death by her younger brother Paul in 1979.
A viewing and rosary prayer will be held on July 15 at 3 p.m. at Einan’s Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on July 16 at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Church in Richland, followed by a procession and burial at Einan’s at 11:30 a.m.
Memorial contributions can be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance in her honor.
I am celebrating the life of my cousin Patricia, who always put caring for others at the center of her life — with both her intellect and her heart. I treasure the memories from childhood, where she was sort of “in charge” whenever the kids would gather back in Connecticut. I am praying that the Father’s long arms wrap around the family, even as I know she is already reunited with those she loved.
I never knew Patricia, but she gave me one of my best friends. Sending strength and peace to all her loved ones.
Our deepest condolences to you and your family.
Patricia was so much more than a cousin. Seven years senior she was my role model. She was so poised, and was always there for me and my twin.
We shared so many interests and she was always my advocate and intercessor. She was very deeply loved.
Blessings for your family. Trish will be missed 🙏 She was so lovely to work with and loved teaching music to the students.
My condolences. Praying for peace and grace for Patricia and all her family.
