Ronald George Geiger
Ronald George Geiger, a beloved husband and devoted father was born on March 2, 1943, in Bismarck, North Dakota and passed away on July 26, 2024, in Richland, Washington.
After graduating Mandan High School, Ron went on to attend the University of North Dakota, earning his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering in 1968. He married his high school sweetheart, Eileen in 1965, then went on to bring his family to Richland, Washington and kick start his career a few years later.
Ronald’s path through life was marked by dedication and passion for his craft as a Systems Analyst with various contractors over his career out at the Hanford site, eventually retiring in 1998 from Lockheed Martin Hanford. Although dedicated to his career, Ron was also a man of multifaceted interests; he was an avid upland game bird hunter and water fowler, enjoyed Alpine Mountain climbing where he ascended Mount Rainier, Mount Adams, Mount Hood, and Mount Baker, and as a self-taught master woodworker, his attention to detail shined in the creations made for family and friends. Ron was also a lifetime member at the Rattlesnake Mountain Shooting Facility, where he enjoyed trap shooting and the camaraderie with other members, forming lasting friendships with many.
Ron was a loving husband and devoted father. His greatest joy was being a grandpa to his grandkids. Ron leaves behind his wife, Eileen Geiger, having been married for 59 years. Ronald is also survived by his sons, Gary and Bryce (Kimberly) Geiger, as well as grandsons Eli and Brody Geiger, granddaughter Ashley (Jason) Kuch, great granddaughter Paisley Kuch, and sisters Lyla Hochandel (Englewood, Colorado) and Renee Krause (Belle Fouche, South Dakota).
Proceeding Ron in death was his father and mother, George and Kathyrn Geiger as well as his brother, Gerald Geiger.
In honoring his memory and cherishing his legacy, a Rosary and Funeral Service will be held at Einan’s Event Center on August 6, 2024 beginning at eleven o’clock in the morning.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Geiger.
Another of our old “gang” of six is gone leaving three of the six buddies. We met in the seventh grade, and he became part of the gang. We had so many great times together through Jr and Sr High School. Still remember his old 48 Chevy. He was so proud of that vehicle. So sorry to see he is now gone. RIP Ron.
So sorry for your loss, Eileen! I have tried to find you on Facebook and I thought I had your email address! Randy just called us and told us he had just come back from Washington that Ron had passed away. Hugs! Eileen and Jim Wolf . ewolf97770@aol.com
Ron was a wonderful person; enjoyed working with him. Wish you all well.
Eileen and family – Sincere condolences on Ron’s passing. May your memories of times spent together and the love of family and friends comfort you at this time.
Ron was the best manager I ever worked for. He was so good with every person on the project and always kept complex projects under control. He was a joy to work with and a great mentor as well. My sympathies to his entire family for your loss.
To say Ron spent a lot of time at the Shotgun Range is an understatement. Back in 2017 Skeet Field #1 was dedicated as “Geiger Field” in honor of Ron for everything he did for the range. I will miss Ron, he was a good man, and I feel blessed that I got to know him. God speed Ron, you will be missed by all of us out at the range.
So very sorry for your loss. Dear Eileen, Gary, Bryce and extended family. Ron was a wonderful man. Talented, generous, great sense of humor. Suzy, Matt and I will miss him dearly. When I arrive in Washington next week, Suzy and I hope to visit with you. You have been dear friends for a very long time. Ron and Tom are together now, still sharing woodworking tips along with funny stories. They are in good hands.
Eileen and family: I will always remember what a good guy my cousin Ron was. I send you my deepest sympathy and prayers for comfort and peace.
My deepest sympathies to you and Your family. God bless you.
Eileen and family. So sorry to learn of your loss of Ron. Our thoughts are with you.
Eileen, Gary, Bryce and family, I am so sorry to hear of Ron’s passing. May your beautiful memories carry you through these difficult days. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Love, Marla.
Ron was by far the best neighbor you could ask for. Been neighbors since spring of 1982. God bless to a great man. He will be missed.
Rest in Peace, guy.
We are so sorry for your loss of Ron. He was a special person and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
