John Raymond Naccarato
John Naccarato, 86, passed away on August 5, 2024, in Kennewick, WA, surrounded by his family. John was born in Priest River, Idaho, on April 15, 1938, to Victor A. Naccarato and Margaret E. Warner. He proudly served in the US Navy from April 1955 to April 1963. In Portland, Oregon, John met his beloved wife of 61 years, Mary Ann Higley. Together, they raised three sons: John, Nick, and Robert. Shortly after marrying, they moved to Alaska to start a cable TV company. Their journey continued in Eastern Washington, where they expanded their business. In 1986, they relocated to Oceanside, California, where John worked as an electrician at Camp Pendleton with the US Marine Corps. After retiring, John and Mary returned to Eastern Washington. John is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Naccarato; his sons, Nick (Melva) Naccarato and Robert Naccarato; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, John Anthony Naccarato. John cherished his family deeply. Known for his storytelling and wise advice, he also had a great love for his dog, Buster. He enjoyed playing the guitar and cherished his morning coffees at Shari’s, where he visited with friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
My heartfelt condolences to Ann, Nick, Robert, and their families. Nick and I have been close friends since junior high and I had the pleasure of spending quite a lot of time with the Naccarato’s, when they lived in Sunnyside as well as California, and John was a wonderful person with a personality that made everyone like him. I spent the better part of one whole summer with them when they lived in California and I can still hear John’s voice as he would, nearly daily, open my door in the early A.M. and say “Bryan, are you awake, let’s go have coffee. I’ll see you downstairs in a couple minutes.” I didn’t even drink coffee nor was I thrilled about getting up that early but John being the likable guy that he was I could never say no. I’ll truly miss his sense of humor that had a way of making everything funny and I will forever be grateful for the time I spent with him.
