Kermit Roy Larson, 81, of Kennewick, Washington passed away on August 22, 2024, from complications of Parkinson’s.
Kermit was born in Burlington, Washington in 1943, the son of late Walter Larson and Genevieve Danuser. Kermit had two siblings, Carol Larson (sister) and Lee Larson (brother). During his childhood years, he grew up on his family’s farm in Sedro Woolley, Washington, where they grew strawberries, raspberries, and corn. After graduating High School, Kermit attended Washington State University for year and a half before joining the army on April 18, 1966. He was a Sergeant and learned how to operate helicopters. He was honorably discharged (hardship discharge) on February 13, 1967, due to the untimely death of his father, returning home to run the family farm. He retired from farming a few years later, and became a pilot, flying crop dusters, a successful career that spanned more than 30 years.
Kermit had a great sense of humor and always had delightful stories to tell. He enjoyed daily meet ups at the local coffee shop with his friends, fishing at Lake Havasu, going to baseball games with his son and exploring the United States in his camper with his late wife, Maggie by his side. They even drove, camping along the way from Washington state to Washington DC to visit his daughter.
Kermit was proceeded in death by his parents and his late wife Maggie. Kermit and Maggie were married on May 18, 1984, until her passing in 2015. He is survived by his two siblings, Carol Larson and Lee Larson, Nels Larson, son, Annie Neises, daughter and two stepdaughters Belinda Haslett and Cheryl Haslett, along with countless family and friends.
