Margaret Ledington

Margaret Ann Martin was born on February 11, 1942 in Twin Falls, Idaho to parents Sterling (Buck) and Rebecca (Catherine) Martin.

Marge’s early life was spent on the farm where she was tasked with slopping the much-hated pigs.

She would often tell the story of how she was so excited one day to find the pigs gone, that she ran all the way home only to discover that they had just been moved to another pen and she was still on “slop” duty. As a little blonde girl with the case of the “oneries” she would wind up the much-hated pigs’ tails just to see them run.

When she was a teenager, she went to live with family friends in Twin Falls, Idaho to finish her senior year and that’s where she met Larry D. Ledington, his aunt Virginia and uncle Jerry lived next door to her.

Marge and Larry were married at the Baptist Church in Weiser, Idaho on November 24, 1961and remained married until August 16, 2024 when she was called home to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Marge and Larry welcomed their first daughter, Susan, in August of 1962, and their second daughter, Linda in October of 1965. Marge worked as a secretary for an insurance agency before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She loved to sew and often made her and Larry’s clothes. She was an avid crocheter and loved to work on crossword puzzles, believing that kept her mind sharp. In the early 90’s, Marge and Larry bought a farm and while Larry drove a semi-truck, Marge learned the “joys” of driving big farm equipment. One day, eager to get the hay raked, she drove a long Darf Rake a little too close to Larry’s pick up and gave it a nice new pinstripe. Which Larry was very happy about.

Margaret is survived by her husband Larry, her two daughters, Susan (Riley) Robertson and Linda (Duane) Lipps.

Three grandchildren, Amanda Robertson, Jason (Michaela) Lipps and Michael Lipps.

Five great grandchildren, Ryan, Beatrix, Jameson, Alexander and Charlette. Her brother Joe (Roseanne) Martin and sister Joy (Alan) Blackwell, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Marge was a long-time member of the Southside Church in Richland, WA and believed that Jesus Christ was her Lord and Savior. She was very loved and will be missed.

  • To the Ledington Family, Gary and I were so sorry to hear of our cousins Marge’s passing. We so enjoyed their visit on Memorial Day of this year. They were with Larry’s sister Beverly. Marge never knew a stranger and she was where ever anyone needed help. Will miss her wit and smile
