Mona Rae Davis

To my family and friends,

You are my “flowers”, and you will always be a beautiful bouquet in my heart. This is a time of rejoicing in the Lord, not sorrowing for me. My prayer is that the Lord will help you through your grief and direct your days to have a peace that only comes from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Mona Rae Davis, age 91, of Richland, Washington, passed away on September 30, 2024.

Mona was born to Horace E and Eula L Jetton on October 1, 1932, in Idabel, Oklahoma. Her family moved to the Tri-Cities area in November 1944.

She graduated from Columbia High School and married her sweetheart Charles E Davis on April 26, 1952. They were the best of friends and married 47 years. Together, they raised two children, Cheryl Kaye and Mark Ryan.

Mona was a homemaker. She loved tending to her garden, painting with friends, decorating wedding cakes, and quilting. Her favorite and most important part of her life was sharing the Lord with her family and friends.

Her favorite scripture verse was Jeremiah 15:16-17 “Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts. I did not sit in the assembly of the mockers, Nor did I rejoice; I sat alone because of Your hand, For You have filled me with indignation.”

Mona’s home and heart were always open to her 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She had an open door policy and loved having her family come and go through her home at all times. One of her favorite memories that she often shared was how her family loved to come and find treats in her refrigerator.

Mona leaves behind her two children; Cheryl Romano and husband Tino, and Mark Davis and wife Renee’. She also leaves behind one brother, Glenn Jetton and wife Gracie. As well as 6 grandchildren Amy, James, Jennifer, Nick, Sarah, and Erin; and 6 great-grandchildren Hunter, Nicholas, Leon, Peyton, Ryan, and Katie.

I pray that “He in me has worked out through me all that He is” often enough that you have seen Him and will turn your whole heart to Him at all times for all things. Christ in me is my hope of glory. My prayers have always been for each of you to know the same for yourselves.

Jesus is my life, my love, my all, and in Him I will never leave you. I look forward to the day when we can be together again.

With much love,

Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, Friend. – Mimi

  • It was an honor and a privilege to know Mona for the short time I was able to serve her, both as a nurse and as a friend. I will always cherish our long gospel discussions and hearing her share her wisdom and life memories. She loved her backyard and her plants and shared several “starts” from her plants that now thrive in my backyard. She truly was a blessed daughter of God. Until we meet again, Mona

  • Aunt Mona was an amazing woman. A very strong and true believer in the lord. Like ser sister my grandmother always making sure that we had a relationship with God, telling their testimony her face would light up so much. Her smile and laughter were contagious. I will never forget looking forward to going to see her growing up. I loved her hugs… then going out back and paying in the flower garden. or walking around the house looking at her paintings or the quilts she would make. Absolutely always beautiful. I love you so much Aunt Mona and you will be missed so much.

To my family up there in Washington…. I love you all dearly.
