Ronald G Mikulecky
Ronald (Mick) G. Mikulecky was born in Linn, Kansas to Lewis Lee and Edna Grace on June 3rd, 1935. He was the middle son of 3 boys. Edward, the oldest and Roger, the youngest.
In 1943, the family moved to Richland, WA when Mick was 8 years old. He attended Lewis and Clark Elementary school and graduated from Columbia High School (Now known as Richland High school) From an early age, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.
After graduating in 1953, he worked for Campbells Complete Food Markey and later the Richland Laundry and Dry cleaners. While at the laundry, he heard of job openings in the mail room at General Electric out in the Hanford Area. He met his wife Melisia (Liz) in the mail room in 1954 and they got engaged. Because of government rules and policy, married couples could not work in the same department, so he transferred to the health physics department, and they married in 1955, having one son, Keith, in 1957. Mick started and worked as a radiation monitor for 38 years, retiring in 1992.
After retirement, Mick still enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He took up golf and fell in love with it and could be found out on the course 4 to 5 times a week. He spent countless hours with his grandkids, Blake and Rachel and his great grandkids, Aeris and Mario.
Mick is survived by his loving wife, Melisia Mikulecky, his son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Trish Mikulecky, his grandchildren Blake and Rachel Mikulecky, Katelyn Lynch, Jeremy Von Dohlen and his great grandchildren, Aeris and Marlo Von Dohlen.
Mick is preceded in death by his mother and father, Lewis and Edna Mikulecky and his brothers, Ed and Roger Mikulecky
Mick was always a joy to behold and be around. He beamed with love around his family! We are grateful to have been a very small piece of his life.
Praying for all.

Uncle Jean was my favorite relative…always smiling jokes and teasing all around.
I love the man, the Uncle and the Son and Brother he was.
I pray for comfort and healing for Aunt Liz, Keith and rest of the family.
I will miss him.
My heart goes out to each one of Gene’s loving family. His brother, Edwin, (known as Ed) loved his middle brother deeply. He had told me so many stories about Gene, and what a fine man he was. Ed had total respect for him. He has left a legacy for all of us. He lived his life by example, not empty words. I will always remember how warmly he welcomed me into the family upon our marriage in 1980. I never heard one bad word against him in all these years. I pray that the Lord will grant comfort and peace to all who mourn the loss of our beloved Gene. I know the rest of the story…we will all be together once again as promised by our Lord.
So sorry that Mick has passed away. I lived next door on Craighill. Mick and Liz were wonderful neighbors. They came to my wedding, and we kept up for many years.
My condolences to Liz and family.
