Amy Lynn Davis

Amy L. Davis was born in Tustin, California August 19, 1970, and passed away at her home in Prosser, Washington, October 14, 2024.

Life was an adventure for Amy. She was never expected to live past 15, but she amazed us and had 54 years on this planet we call Earth. Amy enjoyed every day as a new adventure – a plane ride to Alaska, boating on the Columbia River, trip to the Portland Zoo, vacations to California and Hollywood Walk of Fame, riding in a red Jeep with the top off and the wind rumpling her hair. Even a trip to Dairy Queen for strawberry sundae or to the movie theater was a highlight of her day.

She was a celebrity for a brief time – she was The United Way Poster Person with Rainier Bank in 1979. Her picture was on display in all the branches of the bank in Washington state. The local chapter of The United Way pictured her in their campaign brochure recently.

The Arc of Tri-Cities provided activities for her.

Amy lived in three Adult Family Homes during her lifetime.

Amy lived with Pam and Phil Wilson, and then on to the McBurney Adult Family Home with Christina (McBurney) Cable as her caregiver and then on to the Adult Family Home – A Part of the Family; with Ramona and Jeff Wallace where she resided until her passing. Katie and Dayton Almont cared for her in the Adult Family Home in Kennewick, until Amy moved to Prosser.

Amy is survived by Pat Davis – mother of Richland; and Ray and Jennifer Merrill – Uncle and Aunt of Oak Harbor, WA; Agnes and Francis Merrill – grandparents – were waiting at Heaven’s gate to welcome her Home. Her roommates miss her laugh and her presence.

For all who cared for her and gave her an exceptional life filled with adventure, kindness, and love:

Fred Settle, Prestin Settle, Jessica Settle, Bentleigh Settle – caregivers;

Tracy, Tami, Lotte, Nicole, Marie – roommates;

Monica Lumper – Hairstylist, Gloria Boedecker – dear friend and helper;

Carol Heimbach – dear friend and case manager;

The Rhoten family – caregivers and friends;

THANK YOU!

We are grateful for the time she shared with us. Amy will be missed.

There will be a Celebration of Life at her home in Prosser.
