Arnold Guittard Nacar
Arnold Guittard Nacar, born in Cebu, Philippines, on November 1, 1955, passed away on October 29, 2024, at his home in Kennewick, Washington, surrounded by his family. Arnold’s life was marked by fierce resilience and unwavering devotion to his loved ones.
He was the beloved son of Catherine Guittard and Norberto Nacar, who preceded him in death, along with his brothers, Owen and Ivan. Arnold is survived by his wife, Rolita Nacar; his daughters, Ruth Franz, Muriel Ives, Michelle Nacar, and Megan Nacar; sons-in-law Chris Franz and Jason Ives; and his adored grandchildren, Emma Franz, Lucy Franz, and Jordan Ives. His siblings Brenda, Christine, Dennis, and Ethel, as well as close family friends Edith & Edison Braceros and Emma & Enrique Ang, shared deep bonds with him. His loyal dogs, Kenneth and Moxie, also brought him great joy.
A brilliant student, Arnold graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of San Jose-Recoletos in Cebu City, achieving one of the highest board examination scores in the Philippines. Creative in finding ways to fund his education, he refused to let financial barriers stand in the way of his academic success. As the eldest, Arnold helped secure U.S. citizenship for his immediate family, opening doors of opportunity for future generations.
Arnold was deeply passionate about technology and was always equipped with the latest gadget, staying ahead of every innovation. He shared an unwavering devotion to his wife Rolita, accompanying her on all her adventures with steadfast support. Known for his love of basketball, his ever-present Bible, and his knack for creating unique parables, Arnold brought wisdom and joy to those around him. Despite life’s challenges, he always found ways to provide for and protect his wife, daughters, and grandchildren, embodying steadfast devotion and courage. A 24-year survivor of colorectal cancer, he faced his final battle with unmatched resilience.
Arnold’s life reflected values of loyalty, faith, and integrity, inspiring his family and all who knew him to lead with compassion and strength. His legacy will be remembered in the kindness he showed and the encouragement he gave to others, leaving an indelible impact on all he touched.
Arnold’s final journey was marked by a rare form of cancer, which led to many unexpected medical expenses. In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully welcomes donations to his wife and caregiver, Rolita Nacar, to help with these costs. Contributions can be sent via Venmo @Megan-Nacar.
I had the pleasure of working with Arnold for a couple years he was my supervisor, I am thankful God sent him into my life to show me how to enjoy life and always joke around , and enjoy life the way he did! I will always remember when he said it’s Friday and we would all go have breakfast together and laugh 🤣 and enjoy each other!
God bless you Arnold!

Arnold lived an amazing life. Resilient, mindful and kind with an amazing family. May he rest in peace.
Mr. Nacar was such an amazing Dad! Growing up with Megan he was so supportive of us having fun and letting us eat all his food! He’ll definitely be missed, I’m sending light and love to the Nacar family during this challenging time.
I will never forget the big welcomed energy that Arnold embraced on Megan’s friends, when we were all 13 years old. The big ball of fun he showed us girls during Megan’s 13th birthday will never, and I do mean NEVER, be forgotten. I share the story of my time at the Nacar’s home, every chance I get, and it’s all thanks to Arnold for providing that fond memory for me. Will forever cherish it!
