Charles William Robert Scott
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Charles William Robert “Scotty” Scott, beloved husband of Leola Scott, loving father of Allen Scott, and cherished grandfather of Fritz, Kim, Kyle, Kelsey, Katie, Kassidy, and Marrissa. Robert, a dedicated Chemical Operator at Purex, will be remembered for his hard work and commitment to his profession.
Born in Brave, PA on August 6, 1937, to Harvey and Enid (Sturgeon) Scott. Robert later proudly served in the Air Force and was stationed in Japan, before coming to Richland to embark on a career in the chemical industry. He displayed a natural aptitude for his work that earned him the respect of his colleagues and the admiration of his family.
Robert enjoyed the outdoors, especially hiking and camping. He hiked Mt. St. Helens, and was hiking on Mt. Aix when Mt. St. Helens erupted in 1980. He always enjoyed being a Boy Scout leader leading Boy Scout Troop 237 and teaching the next generation to love and appreciate the outdoors as much as he did.
An industrious man, Robert dedicated his life to providing for his loved ones and ensuring their happiness. His kind spirit and unwavering loyalty will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He passed away in Kennewick, WA on October 19, 2024, surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Harvey and Enid Scott, and his daughter, Debra Scott-Olson.
May he rest in eternal peace, his memory forever in our hearts.
