Sheila Plum
Born Ciria Inez Murray on April 4th, 1944, in Mexico City, she was the only child of Inez Malcom Murray and Alvaro Cervera. As the first grandchild in her large family, she was adored by her aunt and her three uncles, who teased her relentlessly. In 1954, mother and daughter moved to Fort Worth Texas, where Ciria became Sheila. Sheila’s childhood years were spent side by side with her mother and her “daddy,” Papa Donald, whom she always called her dad.
In the late 50’s, Sheila moved to Los Angeles, California with her mother and dad. One night in 1962 while at her best friend’s house, Sheila met the love of her life. A handsome marine walked in, with a button up shirt, cigarettes rolled up in his sleeve, and a drink in hand, he was introduced as her best friend’s uncle, Paul Plum. It wasn’t until two years later, when her best friend asked Sheila to pick up her uncle from the night shift at Stainless Steel Products, that they went on their first date. They went to Bob’s Burgers and sat in her red VW Bug and drank sodas. Four years later, on Halloween night, Paul proposed to Sheila in the same VW Bug, and the two were married on December 9th, 1966, in Glendale, Ca. Paul and Sheila moved from Los Angeles, Ca, to West Richland, WA in 1976. They spent over 40 years there until moving to Bellingham, WA to be close to their great-grand-babies.
Sheila’s proudest accomplishment was her family. She loved being at home and doing everything with her kids and husband. She enjoyed canning pickles, beets, applesauce, and even making grape juice and wine, all from her own garden, sewing Easter dresses for her girls every year, taking care of dozens of dogs, cats, birds, chickens, ducks, and a few turkeys.
In retirement, she loved doing these things with her grandkids as well as traveling in the motorhome and spending her time with family and friends. Her family was her whole life and fulfilled her. Being an only child, Sheila wanted nothing more than to have kids and a family to fill her home with love. She poured her love into her family and gave them all so many wonderful memories that will be cherished for generations. Sheila and Paul spent over 53 years married until Paul’s passing in 2020.
Together they raised four children, Edward Allen (wife Lori), Laura Einan, Deborah Plum, Sarah Plum (late husband Robert), and former son-in-law Don Einan. They were the best grandparents to Laura and Don’s children Jessica Rosetta (husband Kyle) and Brandon Einan, and Sarah’s children Zachary and Ellie Jackson. Both were so proud to have been blessed with five great-grandchildren from Jessica and Kyle: Michael, Matthew, Remy, Bjørn, and Valkyrie.
Sheila is preceded in death by infant son Paul, dad Donald Evans, Mother Inez Shoopman, husband Paul Plum, and son-in-law Robert Curet.
Sheila was welcomed into the gates of heaven on Wednesday October 9th, 2024, by her soulmate and love of her life Paul, whom she has been lovingly longing to be with over the last four years.
A graveside service will be held at Sunset Gardens “Veteran’s Garden” Sunday, October 27, at 11:30 a.m. A Celebration of Life for Paul and Sheila Plum will be held following Sheila’s service at Rocco’s Pizza in Kennewick from 2:00-5:00 p.m.
Eddie I’m so sorry about your mother
Eddie,
Please except my heartfelt condolences for your lovely mother. All though I did not know her, I remember you. I would like to think that you got your enthusiasm and funny personality from your mom.
I’m sure your mom was proud of you in high school, and I’m sure she is still proud of you. From her obituary, it seems you grew up in a loving and secure home and this makes me happy for you and your siblings.
May you be comforted in your memories of your mom and dad.
Most sincerely,
A high school classmate-
Lori G.( and husband David Saueressig)
Sheila, You are one of the sweetest women I know!🥰 You and your family were such wonderful friends when our girls went to school together! I know there is a wonderful place for you in heaven. Lovingly, Sharon Pedersen
I met Sheila in 1993, she would become my mother in law in 1995. She always showed me love and friendship. She was so loving to my children and was a huge part of making them who they are today. She will be greatly missed, but it gives me piece that she is with Paul now, happy and pain free.
Sheila was like a second mom to me when I was a little girl running around with Laura and Debbie. She would set me straight in so many ways. She was also very loving and caring and took care of all the kids that ran around her house. I pray for all of the family’s peace, knowing she is with her beloved Paul and parents.
Dear all,
I wish i could hug you in person as Sheila is very dear to all of us Murray relatives. We have you in our prayers for peace in your hearts. You were the best thing that ever happened to Sheila and Dean, she always spoke the world about you all.
Rest in peace Chilita! We love you and will miss you! In our hearts for ever
