Robert Hartley
Our beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, Robert Dale Hartley, went to the arms of his heavenly father at the age of 83 on November 25th 2024. He passed peacefully at the Hospice House surrounded by his family. His mind and body have been renewed, and he has joined the Saints that have gone before him.
Robert, Bob, was born to Warren and Pernie Mae Hartley on May 5th, 1941, in Phoenix, AZ.
His mother passed when he was very young, and his grandparents helped raise him. When he was old enough, well, almost old enough-15yo, he entered the Air Force to service country. After just a couple of years, he switched to the Navy where he would spend the rest of his military career.
The Navy would take him all around the world along with his first wife, Leilani and their two sons. Many adventures were often told from the years spent in Antarctica, the Philippines, Italy, and more. After retiring from the Navy, Bob went on to have another career in civil service. He served his country well both in active military and in civil service.
After the passing of Leilani, in 1998, he would marry Judith Hartley with whom he spent his last 25 years. With Judi, he became a father to her two daughters.
In Retirement, he would go on to serve his community as both a volunteer in the school district and a foster parent. He was always looking for ways to serve and charities to be involved with. The light of Jesus Christ shined through him wherever he served.
He is proceeded in death by his grandparents, parents, brother, wife Leilani, and great grandson Bruce.
He is survived by his wife Judi, sons Robert and Michael, stepdaughters Angela and Ronica, 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Robert Hartley-Jessica, Michael & (Dawn) Hartley- Kristie & (Joshua) Voight- Caleb and Paul, Kellsie Hartley; Angela & (David) Decker-Nathanael; Ronica & (Mike) Bishop- William & (Gina), Emily Odine, Michael & (Heidi), John, Judah, Kevin, Gideon, Magnolia, and Abigail.
