Lawrence Morin
Larry Morin, 73, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in Richland on December 10, 2024. Larry was born on April 5, 1951, in Hartford, Connecticut, to Olivette (Poulin) Morin Zieminski. He spent many memorable summers in his youth with his beloved grandmother in Maine. Larry proudly joined the Air Force at the age of 17 where he earned the affectionate nickname “Hotdog” among his peers. He served as an Air Crew Life Support Supervisor and a Safety Technician. It was during his service that he met the love of his life Carol Hoglen. Together they had a daughter, Crystal, who was their pride and joy. He dedicated 20 years to the Air Force before retiring and settling down in the Tri-Cities. After his military retirement he worked in the Tri-Cities for Schwan’s and PermaFix in shipping. Larry loved spending quality time with his family and friends. He enjoyed fly-fishing, camping, and gambling. Larry often visited Connecticut and Maine to reconnect with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol, mother Olivette, and brother Reginald. Larry is survived by his daughter Crystal Morin, brother Raymond Morin, and his nieces and nephews.
Larry will be greatly missed by all who knew him, he had a big heart and would do anything to help his family and friends.
So glad I, my wife Rita and all his family here in Maine had the opportunity to chat with my cousin and catch up when he last came to Maine not long ago for Aunt Rita’s committal service. He was a character and could recall and relate fond memories from years ago. Our condolences.
Crystal, none of us can say anything to really help. This is a very personal journey for you. Your dad was the best. He always wrote and called to make us laugh or just know we were loved. He was the family historian. I feel such a hole in my heart knowing he’s gone. Sending love from Maine!
Hot Dog was a good friend, and always supportive to his friends. If you needed help; Hot Dog would be there for you. Crystal, we are so sorry for the loss of your daddy and our friend. Our thoughts are with all the Hoglen family; and we hurt with you. Love to all of you. Evelyn and Jim Kennedy
Miss you at the Spudnut. Thanks for letting me join your coffee and Spudnut bunch.
