Fenton Norman
Fenton Norman of Birch Bay, WA and more recently of Richland, passed away on Jan 3, 2025, at the age of 84. The son of Dale Norman and Harriet McMartin, he was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Sheila Schoening and his beloved spouse of 45 years Linda Norman. He leaves behind his 3 children and their spouses, Brian Norman (Amy), Michelle Engler (Caleb), and Julie Norman, five grandchildren, one sister Gail Peterson, and many wonderful people he considered family. Fenton was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served multiple tours in Vietnam. He had degrees from UC Berkeley and MIT. He was a certified professional engineer and had his own consulting business. His devotion during his youngest daughter’s numerous hospital stays fueled his lifelong service to others in need. Fenton served in the LDS church for many years. A man of many interests, he loved reading, playing Santa, watching sports games, fishing, playing cribbage, and talking for hours on the phone. He enjoyed a good steak dinner and his wife’s famous pie. The funeral will be Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 9:30 AM at the LDS Chapel 1720 Thayer Drive, Richland.
I had the pleasure of taking care of Fenton for a short while. He always made me laugh and had great advice if anyone was having a bad day and he was always smiling. He will be truly missed. 🥺 and to Brian, Michelle and Julie I have no words at all 😪 I’m so glad that I was able to take care of Fenton
Fenton was one of the first residents I met when I moved into Brookdale. Sympathies to Brian, Michelle, and Julie at this most difficult time.
Fenton and his family have been our friends for over 50 years. Go with God Fenton you will be missed. Condolences to Brian, Michelle and Julie and the extended family; big hugs.
