John Irwin Gould
John I. Gould, born on July 31, 1939, in Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away peacefully in Richland, Washington, 15 January 2025.
He was first-born son of Fred I. Gould and Alice Baer Gould. He is survived by his sister Judi (Dwight) Hempel of Nevada. Predeceased by his parents and brother David A. Gould.
Survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia (Rotan) Gould, two daughters Renee Robles of California and Michele Powers of Oregon. Five Grandchildren. Alexander Zajac, Stephanie Zajac, Gregory Zajac and his Wife Cynthia. Also Dustin and Bryan Powers of Oregon.
John had a fulfilling career working with Boeing, EG&G, and various Hanford contractors in Richland, Washington. Beyond his professional life, he found great joy in music. A talented tuba player, John performed with the marching bands at Washington State University and the University of Arizona and later shared his passion for music as a member of the Columbia Basin Community Band for many years. He was also an avid student and teacher of God’s Word.
An avid traveler, John embraced the opportunity to explore many of the world’s beautiful countries during his lifetime. His love for music and travel enriched his life and brought joy to those around him.
John will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to his family and friends.
John was always very helpful and guided me in many decisions. His dry humor will be remembered.
