“It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
An angel of God was taken home on January 8, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Although her family will miss her, we look forward to being reunited again. She was born Rosalee Ann Tuck, in Junction City, Oregon on December 25, 1940, to Elma Tuck and Reuben Tuck. She enjoyed 4-H with her horse April, tap dancing and 50’s rock-n-roll competitions in her teenage years. She graduated from Imbler High School as a valedictorian and attended Kinman Business University earning an associate’s degree. She married Patrick K. McDaniel and moved to Richland WA and had 3 children.
She then met the love of her life Kent Michael (Mike) DeMonia and his children, and married July 19, 1986. They both retired early and enjoyed a beautiful life together. They enjoyed the beach, dancing, traveling, and snorkeling in the Caribbean. She loved the warm weather. They became snowbirds and spent 17 years living in Ft. Lauderdale and the Villages in Florida. She enjoyed reading many series of books that the kids would tell her about. She enjoyed Thanksgiving and Christmas with family at the big house on Ironton Drive. She loved watching old videos of holiday occasions. She also enjoyed watching Michelle’s basketball and soccer games and eventually Taylors.
She lived life to the fullest and especially loved spending time with her family, and friends. She led a life of honesty, integrity, compassion, faithfulness, hard work and devotion to her family. Her generosity knew no bounds. Her radiant smile lit up any room she entered. Although she is gone, she will live in our hearts forever.
Rosalee is survived by her amazing and beloved husband Kent Michael (Mike) DeMonia of 38 years. She is also survived by her children, Tracie (Eric) Straalsund and their children Erin, Dana, and Kyle, her son Doug McDaniel and his children Chelsy, Haley, and Jamie, and daughter Michelle Johnson and her daughter Taylor Rose. Her sister LaVonn (Chuck) Berry and children. Her brother David (Patti) Tuck and children. She is also survived by her stepchildren Shane (Jackie) DeMonia, Son Tyler and daughter Morgan, Michelle (Phillip) Sweet and her daughter Lexi and many other grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rosalee was preceded in death by her parents, Elma and Reuben Tuck and her granddaughter Katy Straalsund and many friends, waiting for her at the Door to Heaven.
Rosalee loved her family and would make a point to tell them that she loved and appreciated them as often as possible, sometimes with a hug but most frequently with a text. The most important thing in life to Rosalee was her family and we will miss her always.
Mike – so sorry for your loss, Rosalee was always sweet to us. I’m happy you found each other and had, what sounds like a wonderful retired life together. You and the family are in our thoughts and prayers.

I worked with Rosalee at PNNL while still a student. She was very kind and taught me a lot, and we had a lot of laughs, including due to the confusion we caused when answering the phone because our names were similar.
Rosie you were such an important part of my life not just a Sister in law but also my mentor and friend. You will alone in my heart , and So many memories.
Hello Mike, My sincerest condolences to you and your families and to friends who knew Rosalee personally.
Even though I didn’t have the pleasure of getting to know Rosalee personally her character and love for others preceded her in life.
Cherish your love and memories of her and more so get excited for your reunion that will soon take place.
God bless and keep you and comfort you as only He can. 🙏🏻
I have many fond memories of Rosalie from our time at PNNL. What a loss for family and friends. May God bless you.
She indeed was a giving, loving, kind sister-in-law to us, her Alabama kinfolks. She did like our winters better than Washingtons. I’m glad because we got to see them often. When we visited Richland occasionally she was a great hostess. Took fresh crabs we caught to their house on our 50th anniversary and she helped clean them and made crab cakes. Yum. They took us out to eat and went for walks near golf course watching cautiously for flying golf balls. We heard about her children and grandchildren, her work before retirement and more. Very smart and outgoing. We will miss you so but know we’ll see you in heaven, probably sooner than later since we are in our 80s now. It will be a glorious time worshipping at the feet of Jesus our beloved Savior for eternity.
We were so sorry to hear about Rosalee. She was a wonderful person and we were lucky to have known her. She always had a smile for everyone and such a happy attitude. She will be sorely missed.
Our condolences to all the family.
Rosalee was such a joy to work with at PNNL.
I will have fond memories of her always.
