Robert Mitchell

It is with both heavy hearts and joyful memories that we celebrate the life of Robert “Rob” Edward Mitchell Jr., born on January 9, 1964, in Kennewick, Washington. Rob, a loving husband, caring father, and cherished grandfather, Rob departed this life on February 2, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.

Rob lived most of his life in the Tri-Cities, embracing every chapter with an adventurous spirit. He held various jobs, including roles as a machinist, supervisor, and CDL driver. Rob proudly served in the Air Force and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Teresa Mitchell; his children, Lindsay, Nathan (Ally Manlove), and Noah (Celene Ortiz); and his granddaughter, Aesha Mitchell. He is also survived by his mother, Carol Mitchell; his brother, John Mitchell (Keeni); and numerous nieces and nephews, including Brandon Mitchell, Bailey Mitchell, Brent Mitchell, Henry Tews, and Olivia Tews.

Rob’s joy for life was evident where as a young boy he played little league baseball and continued his passion for football from Grid Kids through high school and into college. He graduated from Kennewick High School and attended The College of the Desert. He was a History buff and loved watching Indy and NASCAR rases and enjoyed several trips with friends and family. His proudest moments were undoubtedly the births of his children and the joy of becoming a grandparent.

Rob is preceded in death by his father, Robert Mitchell Sr.; his daughter, Alycia Mitchell; and his brother, Scott Mitchell.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor his life and contributions on February 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM, during which family and friends will gather for placement at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 915 Bypass Highway, Richland, Washington.

As we gather to celebrate his wonderful journey among us, we invite all whose lives he touched to join in remembrance and reflection. While he may no longer walk among us, Rob’s spirit and love will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us and filling us with joy as we remember the passionate, kind, and loving man he was.
