Ronald Ross Myles, aged 88, passed away on March 7, 2025, in Richland, WA. Born on May 7, 1936, in Yakima, WA, Ronald spent his early years in the orchards of Cowiche, learning the value of hard work in his father’s orchard. After completing his education in Yakima, he embarked on a distinguished 20-year career in the Coast Guard, where he took pride in serving on icebreakers and accomplished the remarkable feat of circumnavigating the globe, including ventures to the North and South Poles.
Ronald devoted his life to his family, marrying Evelyn Kay Watson and raising two sons. His family expanded to include four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who were the joy of his later years. Ron’s love for fishing and golfing continued throughout his life, providing cherished memories and stories for his family.
Ronald’s memory is honored by his surviving family: Geraldine J. Myles, David Edward Myles, Donald Evan Myles, and Anthony Ross Myles, Crystal Lynne Feddersen, Nicholas Nolan Myles, Brittney Nichole Myles, Kaelynne Annette Martin, Lucas Paul Langert, Oliver Evan Feddersen, Parker Ann Marie Feddersen, and Ellie Evelyn Myles. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Jean Myles, his wife Evelyn Kay Watson Myles, and his brother, Stanley Vernon Myles.
A man of tradition, Ronald’s life was a living homage to the timeless values of family, service, and community. His memory will be enshrined in the hearts of those who knew him, a beacon of the enduring legacy he leaves behind.
I will sure miss seeing Ron at the clinic. ((Hugs)) to Geraldine. ❤️
