James Willis Richards

Jim Richards, 79, passed peacefully into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus on April 27, 2025. He is remembered as a devoted husband, beloved father, cherished grandfather, and loyal friend to many.

Jim was the loving husband of Kathleen for 48 wonderful years, a proud father to his son Jeff, and a proud and caring grandfather to Draven and Jaden, all whom he loved deeply. He was also a caring uncle and a trusted friend, known for his warm heart and generous spirit.

Jim honorably served in the United States Army for four years, achieving the rank of SP5 (Specialist 5). He carried the values of service, discipline, and commitment with him throughout his life.

Following his military service, Jim served as a firefighter for the Burien Fire Dept in Seattle, then had a long and dedicated career as a Teamster at the Hanford site in Richland. He later served as a PBX Trucking Manager at Tyson Foods, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and leadership before retiring.

He had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy in fishing, camping, and golfing. A loyal Raiders fan, Jim also found his greatest happiness in time spent with his family—especially with his beloved wife who was the light of his life.

A small service in his honor will be held Saturday, June 7th at 11:00 a.m. at the military burial grounds at Einan’s at Sunset Gardens in Richland, WA.

Jim will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved.
