Harry T Shima, age 78, of Richland Washington, passed away on 05/09/2025, into the arms of his savior, surrounded by his loving family and welcomed by the abundance of heavenly angels who proceeded him in death.

Harry was born on August 10, 1946 in Delta Colorado to parents George and Kiyoko Shima. He graduated from Olathe High School, where he went on to work numerous jobs, ultimately retiring from Siemens Nuclear Power plant in Richland WA. Harry married the love of his life, Barbara (Parkin) Shima on March 14, 1980. Together they blended their families and later welcomed additional children, building a full life together that was centered on God, love, and their unwavering devotion to each other. Harry was an active and faithful church member at Central United Protestant Church and served on many Christian retreats for The Walk With Christ Community. Harry enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, coffee, and food! But above all Harry treasured time spent with his family, and his cherished grandchildren. Harry never missed a sports event, concert, graduation, or performance. He was the ultimate cheerleader and biggest fan. Harry was seldom without a smile on his face, or cracking a joke, laughing until tears streamed down his face. He was selfless and kind, a hard worker, honorable, friendly, loving, and faithful-the first person to help someone in need, or give whatever he had, even if it was his last. He was our protector, our mentor, our rock, and our hero. Harry is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Barbara; his children, numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Harry is proceeded in death by his daughter Jean Shima; his parents, George and Kiyoko Shima; and brothers and sisters.

Loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

Memorial service to be held on Friday, July 10th 2026, at 2:00pm.
