David M. Kucera

David Michael Kucera, born November 16, 1982, in Missouri, passed away on March 25, 2026. He leaves behind his beloved daughters, Laurel Anne and Daphne Kucera, who were the greatest joys of his life. He is also survived by his mother, Lisa Heinzer (Bart); his father, David A. Kucera (Nemia); and his sisters, Alexis Adler (Bill) and Heidi Klossner (Andrew) and his girlfriend Amy Andersen.

David proudly served in the United States Navy, a calling that shaped much of his life and reflected a long family tradition of Naval service. From a young age, he dreamed of becoming a Nuclear Engineer, and he went on to fulfill that dream with dedication and distinction. As both an engineer and a trainer, he took immense pride in his work and in the sailors he mentored along the way.

Outside of his service, David was an avid sports fan and loved the outdoors, he embraced life with enthusiasm. Those who knew him will remember his infectious laughter, his wonderfully silly personality, and the deep love he held for his family. His presence brought warmth and levity to every room, and his memory will continue to do the same.

David’s legacy lives on in the people he loved, the colleagues he inspired, and the countless moments of humor and kindness he shared.

Arrangements and Cremation will be arranged by Einan’s at Sunset in Richland, WA. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

  • I got to know Dave a few years ago when WRPS started the LMS system for training and Dave was the force behind that. He was always helpful and upbeat. He will be missed by many.
