LuElla Estelle Stivers

LuElla (Lally) Johnson Stivers, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt
and friend to many, passed peacefully on March 28, 2026, at her home in Richland, Washington.
Born on April 27, 1930, in Superior, Wisconsin, she was the youngest daughter of Edythe Agnes Mathilda
Carlson Johnson and Reuben Johnson.
After graduating in 1948 from Central High School in Superior, WI, her family moved to Richland, WA.
She attended Yakima Business School while her family worked construction at the post WWII Hanford
Project site. After business school, Lally worked for the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC).
Through the Richland community center’s Rec-A-Teers Social Club she met Harold (Hal) Stivers. After
working the swing shift, he would show up just before the last dance (Lally loved to dance) to insure her
safe ride home. When her family moved to Ohio, she decided to remain in Richland with her many
friends. On May 29, 1954, she married the love of her life. Together Hal and Lally shared a remarkable
journey lasting over 70 years, filled with love, patience, companionship, and unwavering support for each
other.
She continued her work at AEC until the birth of her first child Randy; and then became a dedicated
homemaker to Hal and three more children, Brad, Troy and Lisa. She treasures her 10 grandchildren and
11 great grandchildren and 38 nieces and nephews, greats and great greats alike! With her loving family
and friends, she said she has been blessed with a wonderful life, and that is a testament to her love,
kindness, patience, faith, values and dedication. She is dearly missed by all.

A memorial service will be held in Richland at Einans Sunset Gardens on Monday, April
13th. The 11:00am Graveside service will be held in the Prayer Garden. The 12:00pm
memorial service and celebration of life and 1:00pm reception will be held in the
celebration building. Einan’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Richland Lutheran Church Good News Media Ministry.

PUBLIC ENTRY

Your guestbook entry will be visible to the public.

  • Both Lally and Hal were our next-door neighbors from the first day we moved to Richland in 1975. She was a wonderful friend and neighbor.

Some time ago we decided to open and close our window shades, mornings and nights, to let each other know things were O.K. And, also let each other know if we were leaving for a day or so.

I will miss her dearly but be happy for her to join Hal once again.
