Reception
Charlene DeBoise
Charlene (Petty) DeBoise, 86, of Kennewick, Washington, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 10, 2026. Her final months were filled with love and care from her daughters, grandchildren, extended family, and friends, thanks to four months of hospice support.
Born on January 26, 1940, in Malvern, Arkansas, Charlene was the daughter of Jesse and Annie Petty and the twin sister of Christine King. She spent most of her life in the Tri-Cities area of Washington. Charlene worked as a Nuclear Operator at Hanford and generously gave her time volunteering for Meals on Wheels. Known as the matriarch of her family, she cherished hosting family gatherings and found joy in crocheting, knitting, playing bingo, cards, and trying her luck at the slots.
Charlene is survived by her daughters Rose Zanders and partner Chris Mandrell, Cheryl DeBoise and partner Ian Moncaster; son-in-law Jim Lowry; seven grandchildren: Barbara Richardson and husband Dan Richardson, James Lowry, Ken Lowry and partner Ken Holliday, Josh Watt and wife Michelle Watt, Nicole Watt and partner Israel Villegas, Jessica Watt-Kintz, Alison DeBoise and sweetheart for life Taylor Matson; and eight great-grandchildren: McKenzie Lowry and fiancé Alex Trowbridge, Ashlee Findlay and fiancé Hannah Carver, Nolan Watt, Amirah Schaffer, Luna Roberts, Willow Roberts, Edwin Kintz, Kaison McClain and Chace Richardson.
She was preceded in death by her husband William DeBoise; daughters Deborah Lowry and Michelle Cunningham; and grandchildren Kasi Cunningham and Lucas Cunningham.
A service to honor Charlene’s life will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Einan’s Funeral Home in Richland. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice.
Charlene’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
