Kathryn Mary Inglis, lovingly known as Kathy, was born on March 4, 1959, in Colville and passed away in her home in Richland on May 4, 2026. She spent most of her childhood growing up in Walla Walla, where she developed the kindness, warmth, and compassion that would define her life.
Kathy was the beloved daughter of George and Norma Pence and the cherished sister of David Pence (deceased), Cynthia Sams, and Barbra O’Brien (deceased). She was the third of four children.
On March 22, 1978, Kathy married the love of her life, Richard Inglis, and together they built a family centered on love and devotion until Richard’s passing in 2016. Kathy was a proud and loving mother to Benjamin Inglis and Jennifer Taylor. She was also a deeply devoted grandmother to Benjamin Jr. and Bobby Inglis, Savannah, Timothy, Samuel, and Serenity Reedy (deceased), all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Throughout her life, Kathy held many different jobs, including caring for her nieces during their younger years. One of the roles closest to her heart was working with disabled clients at Goodwill Industries, where her compassion and gentle spirit touched countless lives. She later worked at Dairy Queen for 12 years before retiring in 2018.
Kathy had a gift for bringing light, vibrancy, and love into every room she entered. She never met a stranger and always looked for ways to help others, no matter how big or small the need. Her kindness extended even beyond her lifetime through her decision to become an organ donor, continuing her legacy of giving and compassion.
After losing her husband, Kathy spent the following years rediscovering herself and embracing a new chapter of life with strength and grace. She later found companionship with her partner, Jim, whom she loved deeply and shared her remaining years with. She loved the color purple, hearts, and butterflies — beautiful symbols that reflected her gentle and loving soul.
Kathy will be remembered for her caring heart, infectious warmth, and unwavering love for her family and friends. She touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her and leaves behind memories that will forever be cherished.
A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Richland. The Rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. A social gathering will follow the services.
