Mary Sue Billings

Mary Sue Billings, lovingly known as Sue, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, in Kennewick, Washington, at the age of 90.

Born on September 2, 1935, in Pickens County, Alabama, Sue lived a life defined by resilience, independence, and a spirit of adventure. At just 18 years old, she began her career with Procter & Gamble, climbing the ranks until her retirement. Her work was not just a job but a gateway to forming lasting friendships and exploring the world. Sue’s passion for travel was evident through her numerous trips with coworkers, enjoying cruises and visiting various countries, which enriched her life with unforgettable experiences and stories.

Beyond her professional life, Sue was a pivotal figure in her family. She played a significant role in her nieces’ and nephews’ lives, especially during their early years, offering unwavering love, guidance, and support. One story often shared speaks to her selfless nature: at just 17 years old she braved the elements to fetch a doctor for her nephew’s birth, losing a shoe in the mud along the way, a testament to her courage, determination, and devotion to those she loved.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Helen Glass, her sister June Bradley, and her husband, Gus Billings. She is survived by her loving nieces and nephews: Pat (Rhonda) Riley and family, Helen (Larry) Poor and family, Mike (Linda) Riley, Junie (Kevin) Hagan and family, Andy (Tabitha) Bradley and family, John Bradley (Rocio Martinez) and family, Paula Massengale (son Jack Massengale) and family, as well as her great-nieces Brandy (Bill) Reed and family, and Angie (Cody) Reeves and family.

Sue’s legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness, strength, generosity, and adventurous spirit. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by her family and friends.
