Bong “Jimmy” Woo

The world has lost another good man on June 21, 2026. Bong Jim Woo passed away peacefully at
home.

Jimmy was a loving husband, excellent father, good friend, and a successful restaurateur.
He was born in Canton, China; married Tina; and moved to Seattle.

In the late 1950s, he left Seattle and moved to Richland for an opportunity to be a partner at the
Tahitian Restaurant. After working there for over 15 years, Jimmy left and started his own restaurant
called the Moon Palace in 1976.

While living in Richland for almost 70 years, he raised a family and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his
spare time.

Jimmy was happily married for 60 years while operating a successful business for 40 years until his
retirement in 2017.

We love you, Dad/Grandpa. Thank you for everything and being you. We will all miss you.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Tina; daughter, Carla; and granddaughter,
Wendy.

He is survived by his children: Yuk Chor Chan (Chuen Wai); Cathy (Mike); Bradley; Carol (Floyd); Brian;
and 9 grandchildren: Peggy (Calvin); Ming (Irene); Maggie (Dennis); Jaymee (Michael); Ian (Briana);
Vera; Owen; Chloe; plus 10 great-grandchildren.
