Mary Annette “Ann” Naccarato

Mary Annette (Ann) Naccarato, 82, passed away on June 15, 2026, in Richland, Washington, surrounded by the love of her family.

Mary was born on July 15, 1943, in North Powder, Oregon, to Nolan and Daisy Higley. She was raised with the values of hard work, resilience, and devotion to family-qualities that would define her throughout her life.

In Portland, Oregon, Ann met the love of her life, John Naccarato. Together they shared more than 61 years of marriage and built a life centered on love, family, and adventure. They raised three sons: John, Nick, and Robert. Shortly after marrying, they moved to Alaska, where they helped establish a cable television company. Their journey later brought them to Eastern Washington, where Ann opened a clothing store called The Captain’s Cabin. In 1986, they relocated to Oceanside, California, where both Ann and John worked for Camp Pendleton. After returning to Eastern Washington, they owned and operated the Village Inn Motel in Arlington, Oregon, before retiring and spending more time with their family.

Ann is survived by her sons, Nick (Melva) Naccarato and Robert (Sara) Naccarato; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Naccarato, and her son, John Anthony Naccarato.

Ann cherished her family above all else. She was a strong-willed woman with a generous heart and unwavering love for those around her. She enjoyed sewing, reading books, and antiquing with her sister, always finding joy in life’s simple pleasures. Family gatherings were made special by her homemade cookies and famous sticky buns, which became treasured traditions for those she loved.

In retirement, Ann devoted much of her time to caring for and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She treasured every moment she shared with them, creating memories that will be carried on for generations. Known for her determination, wisdom, and fierce devotion to her family, Ann created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.

Ann will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on through the family she cherished so dearly and the countless lives she touched with her kindness, strength, and love.
