Michael Henderson Allman
Michael Henderson Allman was born April 7th, 1978, in Carlsbad, NM. He passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones after a brief battle with cancer. Michael moved to Washington in 1979 where his parents were married and they welcomed his two little sisters.
Michael faced more than his share of challenges throughout his life. At a young age, he was in a serious motorcycle accident, and as a teenager, he courageously battled leukemia. Despite the hardships he endured, Michael never allowed them to define him.
One of his most remarkable qualities was his unwavering sense of humor. No matter what he was facing, he always found a way to make others laugh. He had a gift for lifting the spirits of those around him, even during his own most difficult moments. This was especially true for his two younger sisters. When they were scared or worried about their big brother, Michael would do everything he could to ease their fears with a joke, a smile, or his playful nature. His strength, resilience, and ability to find joy in the face of adversity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He was always very adventurous and loved racing 4 wheelers when he was young, he loved animals especially his dog Bo. He spent a lot of time drawing and painting, he was A very talented artist. Music and movies were among Michael’s greatest passions. He was a devoted fan of science fiction and horror films and could spend hours enjoying his favorite classics and discovering new ones. Music was a constant companion throughout his life, but no band ever compared to Metallica in his eyes. He remained a loyal fan throughout his life.
Michael’s greatest joy in life was becoming a father. After returning to Carlsbad as an adult, he was blessed with two children who became the center of his world. He cherished every moment he spent with them and took great pride in watching them grow.
Michael shared a particularly special bond with his daughter, Elizabeth. They connected through their mutual love of music, movies, and a unique sense of humor that allowed them to laugh together through life’s ups and downs. Their relationship was filled with love, understanding, and countless cherished memories.
His son, Johnathan, is the spitting image of his dad in so many ways. They shared the same carefree spirit, adventurous nature, and a bit of a daredevil streak. Anyone who has heard Johnathan’s laugh can’t help but smile at the resemblance, a reminder of Michael that lives on every day. Michael loved watching his son’s personality develop and took great joy in seeing so much of himself reflected in him.
Michael spent many years in Carlsbad raising his children and creating lasting memories with them before eventually returning to Washington.
Michael is survived by his children, Elizabeth Simonton and Johnathan Allman; his parents, Sharon Allman Magnuson (Jerry Magnuson) and Ted Allman (Becky Allman); his grandmother, Ruth Ann Henderson; his sisters, Wendy Goodnight (Travis) and Jennifer Hightower (Donald); his uncle, James Henderson; and his nieces and nephews, Gillian Hightower, Jaydon Hightower, Alayna Goodnight, Anniston Goodnight, and Kayli Hightower.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandfather Nolan Henderson, his Uncle Danny Henderson.
If Michael taught us anything, it was that no matter what life puts in your path, there’s always room for laughter. Through every challenge he faced, he continued to make others smile, especially the people he loved most. His stories, his jokes, his artwork, his music, and the love he had for his family will never be forgotten.
Very well written and spot on.
He will be missed by all.
Wish we all lived closer together to spend more time with each other.
So sorry for your loss but I’m glad he got to spend quality time closer to his family in Washington for the past several years and his kids were able to go and spend time with him before he left to go see his Uncle Danny and his PaPaw.
