Tiffany Michele Torres
Tiffany Michele Torres passed away on July 28, 2026, at the age of 39 after a courageous 5-year battle with breast cancer. Tiffany was preceded in death by her father Louis Sykes, stepbrother Nathan Butterfield, grandfathers Lanny Gensburg and Dan Sykes, and Grandmother Nelda Sykes. She is survived by her husband Jessus Torres, children Andrew Gallegos, Lillian Torres, and Elizabeth Torres, Mother Kristine Gensburg, brother Kyle McKee, sister Amy (Sykes) Hill, stepbrother Spencer Butterfield, grandmothers Glenda Sykes and Wanda Bailey, and many other beloved family members and friends.
Although she was born in Arizona, Tiffany was raised in Washington State. She spent most of her adolescence in Prosser and the Tri-Cities. Growing up, she swam with the Prosser Piranhas, played volleyball and softball, as well as served as the basketball manager and football water girl in high school. She also competed in the math team and in spelling bees. She graduated in the top 10 of her class from Prosser High School in 2005. After high school Tiffany married Steven (Esteban) Gallegos, who joined the Marines and led them to Quantico for their first duty station, where they welcomed their firstborn son, Andrew. Following their divorce in 2009, Tiffany returned to Washington to be closer to family. In early 2010, she met her husband Jesse (Jessus) Torres, whom she would spend the rest of her life with. They married in August 2012, living in Prosser at first and then later relocating to the Tri-Cities. Together they welcomed daughters Lillian and Elizabeth and raised the family that became the center of Tiffany’s life. As an avid soccer mom, she rarely missed a game, tournament, or practice. Countless evenings and weekends were spent traveling from field to field, cheering from the sidelines.
Professionally, Tiffany worked as an Accounts Receivable Coordinator at Milne Fruit Products before joining Celski & Associates in 2024 as an Accountant. She was respected for her hard work and meticulous attention to detail, remaining dedicated to her work until entering hospice care in June 2026.
Outside of work, family, and a full soccer schedule, Tiffany enjoyed reading, solving puzzle books, painting, and had a deep appreciation for proper grammar, a trait she proudly shared with her father and grandmother.
Tiffany believed in honesty. She loved with quiet strength and often through “tough love,” saying what needed to be said even when it wasn’t easy to hear. She was kindhearted and cared deeply about helping others. She also valued responsibility, integrity, and doing the right thing. It was those qualities that shaped the way she lived every day. Tiffany also lived a healthy life in all aspects. She prioritized nutrition, preferred natural remedies whenever possible, and was thoughtful about limiting unnecessary chemicals in her home and daily life. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021, just 6 months after losing her father, she believed it was an outcome of holding in grief.
Throughout her cancer journey, Tiffany found strength in the support of her family, friends, and the, Warrior Sisterhood. Tiffany was always a believer but was able to proclaim her faith through baptism at her home in June 2026, in the presence of her family and friends. While our hearts grieve her absence, we find comfort in knowing that Tiffany’s suffering has ended and that she now rests in the presence of her Savior. Though we will miss her deeply, the lessons she taught through her resilience, perseverance, and faithful devotion to her family will remain with us always.
A funeral service celebrating Tiffany’s life will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Einan’s at Sunset in Richland, WA. A Celebration of Life Reception will follow at Bethel in Richland. In lieu of flowers, we ask you to continue to embrace her children as they navigate life without their mom and support their endeavors, just as she would have done.
