Christie Kagele
Christie Kagele, affectionately known as Chris, passed away on August 28, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on June 22, 1954, in Glasgow, MT, she spent her last years in West Richland, WA. Chris was a dedicated Executive Administrative Assistant at the Hanford Site, and her career was notable for high level achievements and responsibilities. She proudly served in the United States Air Force, enlisting on June 7, 1974, and achieving the rank of Sergeant before her discharge in 1978.
Chris was a vibrant woman with a passion for life that extended to her many hobbies and interests. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed participating in pool and dart leagues. Known for her generous spirit, she often held events for charitable donations, making a difference in her community. Holidays held a special place in her heart, particularly Halloween, which she celebrated with great enthusiasm alongside her beloved family.
Family meant everything to Chris. She is survived by her spouse, Brenda Adams; daughter, Mariah Ney; her son, Jay Kagele; daughter-in-law, Ginger Kagele; and her grandchildren, Jayde Soland, Brionna Ney, Dakotah Ney, Hunter Kagele, and Cody Kagele. She cherished the time spent with her great-grandchildren, finding joy in their laughter and innocence. Chris loved fishing and camping, often retreating to her favorite spot, Paradise. Additionally, she maintained a treasured tradition of taking her children to Long Beach, WA each year, which has since passed down to the next generations.
Chris will be remembered for her warm spirit, her love of family, and her commitment to enjoying life to the fullest. Her legacy will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. A Celebration of Life will take place on September 18th from 12PM to 4PM at Whiskey River, 775 Goethals Dr. in Richland, WA.

Aunt Chris, I will always be grateful for the love, care, and guidance you gave me—especially during my high school years. You were such an important part of my life, and I will miss you more than words can say. I love you, and I will carry your memory in my heart always.

My grandma was the most amazing and kind hearted women I knew. She lite up every room she walked into! Holidays were very special to her and having her kids and grandkids and great grandkids were a huge blessing to her. She was such an amazing women and will be missed dearly. I miss her every day but I know she is watching over us everyday ❤️ I love you grandma Chris!!
I miss you so much already!! I’ll never forget how you spoiled me every time I came to town. You always made me feel so loved. Rest in Peace mom! 🙏 💕
