Celebration of Life
Tim Huber
Timothy Erwin Huber passed away peacefully at 78 years old after a several year battle with cancer on June 30th, 2026, at his home in Apache Junction, AZ. Tim was born in Pasco, WA to parents Fred Huber, Jr, and Marjorie Patricia Huber (better known as Grandma Patti or Nana) on September 15th, 1947.
Tim was born to go fast. He attended Pasco High School, graduating class of 1965 and competed in track and field, holding records that weren’t broken for several years after he left. He raced dirt bikes as a young adult, and after that there was never a time that he didn’t have either 4-wheelers, snowmobiles, jet boats, jets skis, side-by-sides, or motorcycles. He was not only born to go fast, but he had a love for riding anything that could take him faster.
He had a love for the Tri-Cities area of Washington and considered it home for most of his life. He spent the better part of his working life with the Department of Energy in project management roles out at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation, most recently with MSA. After retirement, Tim finally had enough snowstorms and cold winters in the Tri-Cities that he wanted to give Arizona a try. For a long time, he had an interest in it and had some family there, so he gave it a shot one winter and decided to relocate there full time after that. He fell in love with it too, and it became dear to him just like the Tri-Cities.
Tim was a natural leader. Everywhere he went he ended up bringing people together, and he had a knack for management and organization. He was heavily involved in the Columbia Cup boat races, finding himself in the position of Race Chairman. He loved hydroplanes and brought his family along with him to help put on arguably Tri-Cities’ biggest event. He found sobriety for the past 22 years of his life, and in that time, he helped countless people go through their hardest times to come out better versions of themselves.
He always loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and later in life he finally got his dream bike which steamrolled into a whole Harley lifestyle. He loved to ride, and his love of riding brought together new friends and experiences. Tim convinced close friends to get bikes and start going on adventures, always with itineraries of course, because everything had to be planned to perfection. After seeing local blues groups around the Tri-Cities area, he figured he could step it up a notch and made it a point to take the Harley’s and his friends to blues festivals whenever they could.
Tim’s energy, leadership, organization, and sense of adventure were unmatched and admired by anyone who met him. He was a truly unique individual and had a lot to offer. He was always thinking of others’ needs and really had a grasp on what they liked when it came to selecting gifts. He loved giving gifts to dogs too, and anyone that had a dog and met Tim knew that because he packed dog treats everywhere he went just in case he ran into one. For over the last decade, he had Merra and Biddy, two little chihuahuas that went everywhere he did.
Tim is survived by his sister Holly Erne, his brother Jeff Huber, and his 3 children Margo Frimodt, Brooke Burnett, and David Huber, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family, and friends who considered him family. Tim’s passing is a huge loss to all those he inspired, helped, and loved.
Tim’s memorial service will be held on September 26, 2026, at 2pm at Einan’s Event Center at 915 Bypass Hwy, Richland, WA.
Tim and I were neighbors on Pearl Street in Pasco for a short period of time 20+ years ago and remained friends ever since. We both ended up in the Phoenix area, myself a year or so after Tim’s move and had fun adventures including kayaking the Salt River, adventures to Tortilla Flats, Mesa Mart and frequent lunches, oftentimes checking out various Hawaiian restaurants for loco moco, saimin and guava cake. His home was uniquely his in the Arizona style with lots of Seahawks and Harley decor. He loved his doggies Mira and Biddy very much. Tim was an all-around good guy and will be missed.
