She left us peacefully to be with the Lord in the early evening of Friday, September 4, 2026, at Trios Hospital in Kennewick, Washington.

She was born on November 29, 1935, to Margery A. Stockwell McCormick and Charles C. McCormick Jr. She was raised by her loving parents in Harrington, Washington, alongside her four brothers, Don, Jim, Carroll, and Lynn.

Janet began taking piano lessons at a very young age and quickly developed a remarkable talent and love for music. Throughout her early years, she received numerous awards and recognition for her accomplishments as a pianist. Her dedication and hard work led her to become the International Winner of the Intermediate Class in 1953.

She was also awarded a Certificate from the National Guild of Piano Teachers and became a member of the National Fraternity of Student Musicians, honoring her commitment and achievement in music.

Janet graduated from Harrington High School with the Class of 1953. She then attended Eastern Washington College of Education in Cheney, Washington, where she studied Music Theory.

Janet was also active in her community and youth organizations. She served as Past Worthy Advisor of Rainbow Assembly No.130 for Girls. She was baptized at the Harrington Community Congregational Church, where she remained an active member and served as a member of the choir. Her faith and love of music were important parts of her life and continued to bring joy to those around her.

While attending college in Cheney, Janet was volunteering as a lifeguard, where she met the man of her dreams, Donald Miller Jr. Little did she know that just one year later, they would be married.

In the presence of the Lord and surrounded by their loving family and friends, Janet and Donald were united in marriage on January 3, 1954, at Harrington Community Church.

The newlyweds were blessed with their first child just one year after they were married, followed by four more children over the next six years. As their family grew during the Baby Boom era, Don’s work as an operational engineer and owner-operator truck driver brought the family to the Tri-Cities area of Washington, where they eventually bought a small farm and settled in the small community of Burbank to raise their five children.

Janet was a loving and devoted mother who took great pride in caring for her children and family. While raising her family, she also worked for Boise Cascade’s trucking division in Wallula, Washington, where she served as the head accountant for payroll.

Janet’s love and devotion to her family remained at the heart of her life. She will be forever loved, remembered, and deeply missed.

Janet is survived by her youngest son, James Miller, and his wife, Luzinda Miller; her brother-in-law, Fred Miller, and his wife, Susan Miller; and her nephews, Shane Miller, Bob McCormick, and John McCormick and his wife, Pepe McCormick.

She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Dyllan, Antonette, Aika, Makayla, Bryce, Cooper, Allaina, Curtis, Karl, James (Jamie), Jordan, Michelle, Amy, and Tarrin; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Penelope, Sylvia, Mavis, Kayley, Preslee, Raelynn, Blake, Jensen, and Cooper.

Janet leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory and carry her love with them for generations to come.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Donald Miller Jr.; her parents, Charles C. and Margery A. McCormick; her brothers, Don, Jim, Carroll, and Lynn; her children, Eugene Donald, Timothy Charles, Randy Richard, and her loving daughter, Lorene Alice; her nephews, Rodney Lee Miller, William T. McCormick; and her in-laws, Donald L. Miller Sr., and Verna Lorene Miller.

Janet will be laid to rest at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens in Lewiston, Idaho, on October 24, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of the family she cherished so dearly.
