Patricia Ann Case

Patricia Ann Case, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026, with her family at her side.  She was 81 years old.

Pat was born on June 2, 1945, in Red Lodge, Montana, to parents Martin Jerome Bell and Sarah Elizabeth Bell (nee Phillips).  In her early years, she lived throughout Montana and Wyoming and developed a lifelong love of the mountains and the outdoors.   “Patty Ann” was small in stature, but feisty and opinionated – traits that she maintained until the very end.

In 1957, her family settled in Pasco, Washington, where she met David Case in class at McLoughlin Junior High School.   They began dating not too long after that, and were high school sweethearts.

Pat graduated from Pasco High School in 1963 and attended Central Washington University and Columbia Basin College.   She worked for Battelle in Richland, and for Boeing in Seattle.

On June 10, 1967, she married David Alfred Case, and over the years they welcomed three daughters, raising them in Pasco, Washington.   For most of those years, Pat was a stay-at-home mom and regularly helped at school and with the girls’ activities.   She never missed the girls’ sporting events or band concerts, even the ones that were out of town.  Summers were filled with camping trips to the Tucannon and Montana, picnics and swimming at Levey Park, and a massive backyard garden which she worked to can and preserve.

When the girls were older, Pat returned to the workforce.   The final position that she held was as a contract specialist with Transtate Asphalt Company, retiring in 2005 at the same time as Dave.  They made the most of their early retirement years, regularly boating and fishing on the Snake and Columbia Rivers, camping in their motor home, and taking road trips.   She especially loved their trips through the Southwestern United States and along the Oregon coast.

Pat was a diehard Seattle Mariners fan and rarely missed a game on TV.   She and Dave celebrated at least two wedding anniversaries at Mariners games, most recently their 50th wedding anniversary in 2017, with all of their kids and grandkids.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Martin J and Sarah Bell, and her brother, Martin Allan Bell.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, David Alfred Case, daughters Sarah Case (Chris) of Ellensburg, Teresa Case Sundblad (Josh) of Pasco, and Deborah Case Sundblad (Scott) of Seattle, and four grandchildren – Harrison Sundblad of Pasco, William Sundblad of Bellingham, Emma Sundblad of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Jack Sundblad of Los Angeles, California.  She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Paula Case Maulden of Pasco, and Linda Key of Sutherlin, Oregon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Pat. We shared the same love of the Mariners. And my son shared her birthday. She will truly be missed.
