Cody Lee Beitz

Cody Lee Beitz, 51, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026, at his home in Kennewick, Washington.Cody was born on February 9, 1975, in Moscow, Idaho, to Robert Lee Beitz and RaeAnn Marie Rayment.

He grew up in Thompson Falls, Montana, and graduated from Thompson Falls High School in 1993. Throughout his school years, Cody participated in Little Guy wrestling, baseball, basketball, football, and track. He was naturally athletic and excelled at everything he chose to do. Cody formed many close friendships while growing up, and those friendships withstood the test of time, remaining an important part of his life throughout the years.

Cody learned carpentry by joining his older brother, Richard, in the construction business. They worked together on and off for several years before Cody decided to start his own business, Beitz Construction. The business did well for several years, until Cody chose to take his career in a different direction. Around 2008, he began working at the Hanford Nuclear Waste Site, where he continued working for the rest of his life.

Cody’s first marriage brought him two beautiful sons, whom he treasured deeply. His youngest son tragically passed away in a house fire at just four years old. Cody was devastated by the loss, and his life was forever changed.

Cody later married again and became a wonderful stepfather to three girls—Kylie, Bailie, and Madison—and two boys, Austin and Brenden. Although that marriage eventually ended, Cody remained close to the children and friends with his ex-wife, Monica, until his passing.

Cody was best known for his love of fishing, riding his Harley-Davidsons, and his quick wit and sarcastic sense of humor. He was a devoted father, a loving brother, and a true friend to those close to him. Cody would never hesitate to help a friend in need. He truly embodied the saying, “Work hard, play hard, and love hard.”

On any given weekend, you could almost guarantee Cody was either fishing, riding, or preparing to go fishing or riding. He was a good old country boy through and through. For a time, he raised pigs and later cattle, giving him fresh meat to grill or smoke and share with friends and neighbors. Cody could make a mean brisket—and he was not shy about letting people know it.

Although reserved and somewhat shy at first, once Cody got to know someone, he was absolutely hilarious and so much fun to be around. He loved building huge fires in the fire pit in his backyard and inviting friends and family over to create memories filled with laughter. His kindness, generosity, ridiculous jokes, and laughter will be painfully missed forever. The world has lost someone exceptionally special and deeply loved.

Cody is survived by his son, Alex Beitz and his fiancé, Bailey Heimark; his brother, Richard Parcher Beitz and his wife, Melva Parcher; his sister, Gina Beitz Williams and her husband, John Williams; his brother, Rodney Beitz; his sister, Tara Beitz Perkins and her husband, Mark Perkins; his brother, Steven Beitz; his stepmother, Vickie Beitz; his two grandchildren, Attliss Rae and Iris Kotie Beitz; and his long time girlfriend and soulmate, Angela Perez.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Beitz; his mother, RaeAnn Marie Rayment; and his precious son, Robert Adam Lee Beitz.

A service for Cody Beitz will be held on Saturday, October 24, at 1:00pm with a lite reception to follow at  Einan’s (Event Center) Events At Sunset located at 915 Bypass Highway in Richland, Washington.

As Cody requested, a continued celebration of life will be held at one of his favorite watering holes, Longbranch Saloon, located at 230006 E. SR 397 in Kennewick, Washington, beginning at 6:00 p.m. and continuing until closing. Cody would want us all to have one final toast with him—not as a goodbye, but as a “see ya later.”

Rest easy, Cody. You were an amazing human being, and you will never be forgotten.

  • Cody and I fished and drank a few spirits together over the last 15 or more years, we had some good times and laughs on the boat. We built some great memories clam digging in Long Beach, one of his all times favorite things to do, as well as annual bottom fishing trips out of Westport for many consecutive years together. Cody was kind, generous and a pain in the ass sometimes too. He will be missed. He lived a good life I think. He was humble and spoke of his son often, he was a proud dad.

  • Cody and I met in my te teens and early twenties, beginning a chapter of life that brought us two beautiful boys whom we loved taking fishing and making memories with as a family. After the heartbreaking loss of our second son, Adam, our lives were forever changed. The grief was so deep that Cody rarely spoke about it, and I believe the pain was simply too much for both of us to put into words. Although life took us down different paths, our shared history and the love we had for our boys will always be a part of me. Now that Cody has passed, I find a little peace in imagining him reunited with our precious Adam, held together again in a love that death can never take away. ❤️
