With heavy hearts but celebratory spirits, we announce the passing of Flora Ozuna, who departed this world on October 8, 2026, at the age of 91. Flora, affectionately known as “Ma” and “Abuelita,” was a vibrant force of nature, filled with sass and humor, and she cherished every moment she spent with her family, including her beloved dogs; or babies as she called them.

Born in Matamoros, Mexico, Flora embraced her journey in life with unwavering pride, especially when she became a naturalized citizen—a true testament to her love for her new home. She was a dedicated homemaker who poured her heart into nurturing her family and creating a strict but loving environment for her three beautiful daughters. As a straightforward woman, Flora didn’t mince words; she had a unique way of conveying her thoughts that left an undeniable mark on all who knew her.

Flora was the heart and soul of her family, showering her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with affection in her own special ways. Each generation had the privilege of experiencing her deep love, playful spirit and sass, making her an unforgettable matriarch whose memory will live on in the hearts of many.

A celebration of Flora’s life will take place at a later date. Let us come together to share stories, laughter, and the love that Flora so freely gave. In honoring her legacy, we will remember her as the sassy lady who always knew how to brighten a room and elevate our spirits.
