James W. Young passed away on October 26, 2026 in Kennewick, WA at the age of 83. James was born in Mountain Home, Arkansas and moved with his family to Indiana for a couple of years. The family then moved to Washington state in 1950 to be closer to family; in 1951 the family moved to Richland. James loved to play baseball and run around causing mischief with his friends. He went to Yakima Valley Community College in Yakima for a year where he met his first wife Sally Reimer. James enlisted in the Air Force, September 1962 where he spent the next 26 years and retired as a Master Sergeant. During his career he worked in personnel management and spent his time troubleshooting and fixing subpar units. After retirement James was involved with Kennewick VFW, and served as Junior Vice Commander for a period. During his time he was proud to be a member of the honor guard, assisting with raffles and distributing poppies. Some of his best memories were fishing, hunting and camping with family and friends. He enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren how to fish.
